This is me…
This blog simply began as an extension of my joy for sharing – experiences, stories & everything else in between. My true love for writing, music, self-love, Murakami and lipsticks, all came together with the birth of ‘Moms aren’t Gentlemen‘. Three years, and counting, I’ve loved being in a space that’s mine, and yours. My honesty has gotten me into trouble more than once, but well, standing out is all about saying the things that need to be said – and doing it in style.
Write me a love song
Like my favourite author Haruki Murakami says in one of my favourite books – ‘I have to write things down to be able to fully comprehend them’; I feel the same about experiencing people & situations. My writing journey has been, for the most part, private – but fate took a turn for the better when I began writing as a profession about 2.5 years ago. Nascent to the business of it, but definitely not to its soul – the transition came as organically to me as the words that flow when I’m writing a love song.
From being a molecular geneticist, to a stay-at-home mom, to a content writer and strategist – my career & growth graph has been certainly skewed. But, I’ve found my haven as a content writer – a place I belong to, one that feels like a home, a friend, an escape and most of all, an absurdity of thought and ideas.
Classic rock, fiction novels, cheesecakes, MAC lipsticks and people who write – these are some of my most beloved things in the world. You’ll see that my writing is greatly influenced by all of these.
Shine on like a crazy diamond
Pink Floyd has been one of the greatest influences in my journey through life, music and writing. Through music and through writing, I’ve learnt to find my calling, my true self, my rebellious edge, and parts of me that I’ve fallen in love with. I am a writer, a mother, and a lot of work in progress. This blog is sometimes a camouflaged history, sometimes a dreamy imagination, and at other times a dissociation from reality. But, at all times, it is me at that exact point in time & space. 100% organic. 100% aiming to shine like a crazy diamond.
